CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATIONS _ Every now and then in the normal course of business, particularly during an election year, Congress decides to snoop. Avoid congressional hearings as often as you can, but if you should find yourself in the position of having been subpoenaed and you have no alternative except to testify or lose face, then testify. You can always take the fifth on the advice of your lowyer.

If you choose to speak, however, keep this thought in mind. Even for the best and the brightest, there are times when the world seems to conspire unjustly. When your forehead begins to sweat as much as the palms of your hands; when your lowyer seems at a loss for speech; and when you feel your courage slipping away, remember these words of wisdom found in an old aphorism. Yes, it’s a cliché, and you have doubtless heard it a thousand times, but it will buck you up like nothing else and it will raise your courage and give you strength to stay the course. Always remember: When the going gets tough, blame your accountant.
